Use aftershave balm to combat razor burn
Unpleasant! Your stubble is ready for a shave again, but you already know beforehand that you'll look like a sunburned Native American afterwards? First of all: Keep calm, Chief, you're definitely not alone.
Many men experience this, as their skin is extremely sensitive to the razor's edge. But what can you do to avoid razor burn on your neck and face? A good first step is always to use a mild aftershave balm.
A mild aftershave to combat razor burn
This topic was important to us guys at Mornin' Glory and therefore a key factor in the development of our grooming range from the very beginning. A shave simply isn't complete without aftershave. After all, we know from our own experience that there's nothing more unpleasant than leaving the house with red skin and a patch of spots.
That's why we put extra effort into the formulation of our number 4 – the Mornin' Glory After-Shave Balm . Developed in collaboration with shaving experts in the spring of 2014, the aftershave was finally launched in August.
It is now produced according to our specifications in an experienced Italian family business, and does exactly what an aftershave balm should do: It moisturizes stressed men's skin, has a pleasantly cooling effect and smells really good too.
Take aloe vera, natural menthol, and a dash of hemp oil.
We could now list a cross-section of products found in typical bathrooms – because we ourselves used such aftershaves for a long time. But that's all over since we were able to test our own aftershave.
Today, no Mornin' Glory employee (at least none of the men) would reach for any other product after shaving than our aftershave balm. It's also great to use after dry shaving. But what makes it so special?
-
Aloe Vera
Even the warriors of antiquity knew that aloe vera cools sunburn and soothes the pain of insect bites. Thanks to the plant's antibacterial properties, wounds can even heal faster. This is due to the aloe vera leaf pulp, which, in addition to numerous vitamins, enzymes, and minerals, also contains the pain-relieving salicylic acid. This makes aloe vera gel ideal for your skin after shaving.
-
Natural menthol
What's the point of getting rid of razor burn if you smell like a pimp? That's reason enough for a shot of natural menthol, which not only cools and refreshes your skin but also leaves it smelling pleasant. A welcome side effect: menthol has a soothing effect on minor burns, insect bites, and (bringing everything full circle) skin irritations.
-
Hemp oil
Let's get straight to the point – everything about this hemp oil is legal. Hemp is a cultivated plant with remarkable properties that have been used for millennia. In addition to essential omega-3 fatty acids, the oil from (THC-free) hemp also contains the rare, anti-inflammatory gamma-linolenic acid, which is particularly suitable for external skincare. Hemp oil is therefore ideal for use in treating inflammatory skin conditions.
Of course, we keep the exact recipe a secret. Because we're convinced that no commercially available aftershave can compare to our balm. Your skin feels simply too good after application – and redness and itching are a thing of the past.
Abstaining alcohol isn't the solution either? Yes, it is!
Even though in old Westerns a bottle of whiskey was always poured on the wound first, and even the German punk band Die Toten Hosen sing that it can't be done without alcohol, we deliberately made an exception with our aftershave balm.
For good reason: On sensitive skin, aftershave containing alcohol causes far more damage than it's intended to prevent. Besides the painful application, while the skin is disinfected in the first phase, it also heats up again.
Therefore, an alcohol-free shaving lotion or aftershave that doesn't sting and instead pleasantly cools the skin is much more comfortable to use. You'll see how your skin calms down within minutes – and we'll definitely save the whiskey for somewhere else.
Far more than just an advertising slogan
You see, when it comes to your skin, we don't skimp. A shaved man isn't nearly enough for us; he has to be well-shaven. And that takes more than just a few sharp razor blades and a handful of shaving cream.
Therefore, our shaving tip: If you don't want razor burn, take your time when choosing an aftershave balm and check the ingredients. Even if it comes with a towel personally provided by the national football coach, that doesn't necessarily mean you're buying a better product.
The application is incredibly simple: Once you've successfully finished your wet shave, apply a small amount of Mornin' Glory After-Shave Balm to your face and the sensitive neck area. Massage the after-shave balm in well until it is completely absorbed.
